The Copper Railroad
The copper railroad is located in Chitina, Alaska. The actual railroad runs from Cordova to the copper mine of Kennicott. Although no longer in use today, the railroad still serves as a road for those traveling to certain areas near the Copper River. There have been reports that you will see gravestones along the road sometimes, but when you go back to find them they are always gone. In 1997 they tried to put some government housing into Chitina , but the project was closed down for a while after some strange things started happening.
The workers said they would hear odd voices and children laughing. It’s said that in the back woods you could the hear the laughter and voices late at night. The workers also reported that tools would suddenly appear other places right after they had set down the tools they were using. Not much is known of why such paranormal events occur in the area. The mine was closed and has been completely covered with dirt, which may have covered up some dark stories of the past.
