Kenai Cemetery

The Kenai Cemetery is said to be haunted by many ghosts.  One of the ghosts is said to be an older man named Arthur Johnson.  Visitors have reported seeing Mr. Johnson maintaining his burial spot and those buried around him.  Another spirit haunting Kanai is that of a heavyset woman named Marie.  Although these two ghosts do not appear to have any dark pasts, there are others in the cemetery that might.

If you go into the far back side of the cemetery you’ll find many graves that are unmarked.  It’s said that the unmarked graves hold the remains of servants who were brought up to Alaska to help dig for gold during the gold rush.  When they stopped finding gold it became too expensive to feed the servants and they were killed as a result.  It’s said they were buried right outside of the main part of the cemetery.  There is definitely a lot of paranormal activity out in the Kenai Cemetery and there is plenty of history here to explain why.
